Cremation Options

We perform our cremation process in a dignified and respectful manner. It can be memorialized in many ways to celebrate the life of a person you have lost.

Honest Cremation offers various options for cremation services and memorialization. You can plan a personalized service and select the type of event that would be most meaningful. This service allows you, your family, and your friends to gather and honor a loved one’s memory.

We also offer several choices for a peaceful, final resting place, which includes the following:

  • Traditional burial in a cemetery
  • Having a designated place in a church or mausoleum
  • Scattering the cremated remains in a special location
  • Keeping the remains at home

Direct Cremation

Simple cremation, or sometimes referred to as immediate cremation, is the most basic type of service. The body is cremated with no graveside, funeral, or memorial service. The cremated remains are scattered or directly returned to the family.

Cremation with Traditional Funeral Service

Like a traditional funeral, a funeral service and visitation for public viewing are usually held within two to three days of an individual’s death. The service can be held at a funeral chapel, church, or other place requested by the family.

There are cremation or rental caskets specifically designed and used in the cremation process. During public viewing, the casket can be open or closed based on the family’s preference. A religious leader or officiant will facilitate the service.

Visitors may wish to place flowers or keepsakes in the cremation casket. The family can ask the funeral director which items can be cremated.

The visitation and funeral service is followed by cremation. Instead of burying the individual’s remains in a casket, the ashes are scattered or returned to the family.

Memorial Service

Memorial services are similar to funeral services, but the deceased body is not present. The actual cremation typically takes place a day or two after the death. Meanwhile, the memorial service can take place weeks or months after the death.

This service provides a secure, permanent place for cremated remains. Memorialization is an opportunity for family members, friends, and the community to honor the life of the deceased.

The urn containing the ashes may be present at the memorial service. It can be held at a church, funeral chapel, or someplace meaningful. After the service, the final disposition of cremated remains would usually take place.

The family can choose to take the urn home, bury the urn at a cemetery, place the urn in a cremation niche, or scatter the ashes in a special location.

Graveside Service

Graveside service is not limited to a full body burial. The family can choose to hold a private service with a few invited people. It allows loved ones to gather before leaving the remains in a final resting place.

After the service, the cremated remains may be buried in a cemetery or placed in a niche at a columbarium. Family and friends can place flowers, keepsakes, and other significant items with the urn.

Pre-Planning Arrangements

Honest Cremation provides you with many choices for cremation services and memorialization. In addition, we offer pre-planning funeral arrangements to give you control and peace of mind.

When you plan ahead, you and your family will have more time to research your options and make well-informed decisions. You can worry less knowing that the funeral arrangements have been taken care of.
